Artemis Labs
We are delighted to announce the arrival of Artemis Labs amplification, at prices which belie the quality of performance and build. Additionally our prices match US prices, only adding local taxes. They come with a 5 year manufacturer's warranty, so long as they are bought through an authorised dealer.
Winner of the Golden Ear Award and the editor's Choice Award 2005, the purist line and phono preamplifier boast a minimalist approach which ensures that you hear the music exactly as intended. The manufacturer tried all remote control systems which were available, and preferred to use a high quality stepped attenuator, without remote control. Nothing else gave him the quality he was looking for. Cool-swap technology means that you are using only one channel of each triode, so that the valve/tube runs cooler, and that you are carrying a spare tube on board. Easy connect shunt resistors, for cartridge load matching, avoid an extra switch in the circuit. True full output balance controls, means you simply reduce the output on the offending channel, while retaining the sonic integrity.
The recently introduced 2 chassis 300B power amp, the SP1, is an enhanced power 300B amplifier, which is featured in the April 2006 issue of Hi-Fi News' in Ken Kessler's CES report of Audio Highlights.
Artemis Labs Pre Amps - A New Purist Vacuum
Tube Line Pre Amplifier
The Artemis Labs LA-1 Line Amplifier combines the clean, accurate sound of a purist single-triode line amplifier with the convenience and reliability of a solid, well-built product. Special care is taken with all parts in the audio path, from the Goldpoint stepped attenuator to the Swedish output chokes by Lundahl. The sonic clarity and detail are outstanding.
Key Features:
5 inputs, 2 outputs
Five stereo inputs available at the flick of a switch. Two pairs of RCA output
jacks allow connections to sub-woofer
or signal processor, as well as power amplifier.
12dB maximum gain
Provides adequate gain for most sources without the hum and noise caused by
excessive gain.
Goldpoint stepped attenuator volume control
Series-type stepped attenuator using precision metal-film resistors by Dale
and switch mechanism by Elma (Swiss).
Dual conductive-plastic balance controls
A separate potentiometer is used to balance each channel. This allows maximum
gain in the normal balanced
condition and permits the use of high-quality conductive plastic pots with no
sonic degradation yet infinite resolution.
Mono/Stereo switch with LED indicator
The left and right channels can be merged, with a yellow LED indicating the
mono condition.
One 5687 tube per channel in Cool-Swap Configuration
An idle spare in each tube, plus tubes run cooler.
Lundahl choke loads for each triode
Allows tubes to run in their most linear mode and permits lower plate supply
voltage
Low-Gain MOSFET high voltage regulation
One regulator per channel minimizes cross-talk and gives a firm, stable sound
without sounding solid-state.
Designed and built in the United States using the best parts from around the
world.

Tube Phono Pre Amplifiers
The PL-1 for low-output cartridges
The Artemis Labs PL-1 Phono Preamplifier is the result of several years of perfecting a simple yet extremely high quality tube-type preamp. High quality parts are used throughout and the design is rugged and reliable. The sonic qualities: tonality, detail, smoothness, and presence are outstanding. The PL-1 is optimized for low-output moving-coil cartridges. See information on the Artemis Labs PH-1 for a preamp optimized for medium- to high-output cartridges.
Key Features:
70dB of gain with low hum and noise
High-quality step-up transformer gives good hum and noise rejection.
TexTool ZIF socket connected to step-up transformer secondary
Allows any shunt loading resistor or capacitor to be effectively attached to
step-up secondary.
Three stage design with passive RIAA equalization
Equalization is flat within +/- 0.2dB from 20Hz to 20KHz and is flat to +/-
0.5dB to 40KHz. Last two stages have gentle
feedback and can drive as low as 8K loads without the use of cathode followers.
All key audio circuits wired point-to-point using military-style terminal boards
Sonic degradation due to fiber-glass PC boards is minimized.
One 6N1P tube, two 12AX7/ECC83 tubes and two 5687 tubes. All but 6N1P are run
in Cool-Swap Configuration
An idle spare in each tube, plus tubes run cooler.
Lundahl choke loads for each triode

voltage
Low-Gain MOSFET high voltage regulation
